Please join us for the annual Bellingham Highland Games & Scottish Festival. This colorful and exciting outdoor event celebrates Scottish culture and heritage, but by no means do visitors need to be Scottish to join in the festivities. The Games will take place in Ferndale’s beautiful Hovander Homestead Park with two full days of Scottish games, spectator sports, dancing, food, ale garden, live music, art & craft vendors and fun for everyone in the family. The musical line up this year is fantastic. There will be Pipe Bands on Saturday and a Celtic Arts Showcase on Sunday. The Games run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, with a Ceilidh (Gaelic for party) Friday evening at 7p.m. So, come on out to the country fair with Scottish flair.

This festival offers events focused on the lyrical, polyrhythmic music of Zimbabwe. Come for hands-on, participatory learning in over 150 workshops with master musicians, free outdoor concerts, an African marketplace and evening concerts with marimba and mbira groups. A special teacher track for school music teachers with WWU credit or clock hours is available.

This endurance multi-sport event mimics the life cycle of a salmon. The race involves running, biking and water paddle. The contestants raise money and give it to a favored non-profit organization. The race ends up at Boundery Bay Brewing Company.
