Bellingham, located between Seattle and the United States-Canada border, is a major port for cruise ships destined for Alaska. As an embarkation point for cruise participants, Bellingham provides a perfect base for those visiting the San Juan Islands and Mount Baker. In August each year, the Bellingham Festival of Music brings orchestral and choral music to the Pacific Northwest. For year-round attractions, visit the Whatcom Museum of History and Art and the Whatcom Children's Museum.
